Increased Overjet (Upper Front Teeth Protrusion)
The appearance and function of your teeth are affected by this type of bite. It is characterised by the upper teeth extending too far forward or the lower teeth not extending far enough forward.
Deep Overbite
The upper front teeth bite down too far over the lower front teeth, sometimes causing the lower front teeth to bite into the roof of the mouth.
Crossbite
The upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth, instead of slightly outside the lower teeth.
Openbite
Proper chewing can sometimes be a problem with this type of bite, in which the upper and lower front teeth do not meet.
Other Problems
Crowding
Crowding occurs when teeth have insufficient room to erupt from the gum. Crowding can sometimes be corrected by expansion, but more severe cases may require extractions.
Spacing
Spacing problems may be caused by missing teeth, or undersized teeth.
Centre-line discrepancy
This problem ioccurs when the midline of the upper teeth does not coincide with the midline of the lower teeth when you bite together.
