Once the active orthodontic appliane therapy is complete, retainers are used to hold your teeth in their new, perfect position. While some retainers can be permanently bonded to the back of your teeth, the majority of retainers used are removable. Dr. Taylor will provide you with specific instructions as to how often you should wear your retainers. Generally, we recommend they be worn at night time only. To ensure your teeth maintain their new position, it is usually necessary to wear them at night indefinitely.
